Word of the Week - The Precious Blood

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  Hebrews 9:22He is Risen!!!!  Easter and the celebration of the Resurrection, which we celebrated last Sunday, is the most powerful reality of our faith as followers of Christ “Christians”.  In order to live in the Resurrection Power as believers, we must understand where the power comes from so we can be equipped to exercise the power and experience the benefits of the sacrifice that our Lord Jesus made for each of us on the Cross at Calgary.  It is the precious Blood of Christ, the perfect lamb of God that was poured out for us as a sin offering so that we can receive forgiveness and have eternal life.Power in the Blood – It was God who made all living things and created Blood as the substance that carries and represents life.  In the old covenant, before Jesus, all sin had to be atoned for through the shedding of the Blood of animals.  God demonstrated the protecting and delivering power of the Blood, when He commanded Israel to take the Blood of a perfect lamb and place it on the door post of their homes to protect them from the death angel that would pass through Egypt. All who covered their homes and families with the blood escaped judgement and were spared.  Those who decided to go it alone were not.  This is the Passover.Jesus Sacrifice – God’s complete holiness had to be justified.  The sin of mankind had to be judged and atoned for once and for all.  God provided the way by giving of Himself in sending His son Jesus, who alone was qualified as the perfect “lamb of God” to pour out Himself as the ultimate sacrifice.  His Blood covers our past, present and future sins and gives us victory over the enemy of our soul.  “And they overcame Satan by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony” Revelation 12:11Receive the Gift of the Blood and use it against the enemy of your soul – Jesus bought you!  He paid for our sins with His own Blood!  Therefore, we are His the minute we accept His gift of life by surrendering our lives to Him.  Let’s believe it, receive it, rejoice in it and walk in it!  It is the Blood of Jesus not our good works that purges us of any defilement/sin.  It is the Blood of Jesus that keeps us and guards our hearts and minds each day.  It is the Blood of Jesus that prevents deception and aborts every attempt of the enemy to deceive us.  The Blood of Jesus is our divine covering and protection against all the fiery darts of the evil one.  “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His Blood-to be received by faith”. Romans 3:23-24Oh! Precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; No other fount I know.  Nothing but the blood of Jesus!!!!!!!!!!Have great week knowing that you are covered by the Blood of Jesus……-Duane
