Word of the Week - Immanuel (God with us)
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means "God with us"). Matthew 1:23
This is the true gift of Christmas – Christ! It is amazing to me that God sent His only begotten son, Jesus, down to earth to be the ultimate sacrifice so we can have eternal salvation and live the “life that is truly life” with Him, but He did not stop there. Jesus came to this earth to be “with us” in the flesh, and He remains “with us” in spirit. As we journey through this brief time we have on earth, our God is with us through the good times and challenges of life. Not only is He “with us” but if we invite Him, He lives “within us”, and we can experience the manifest presence of God through the power of the Holy Spirit, our great Comforter. Under the new covenant established through Jesus birth, death and resurrection, we as followers of Christ are the temple of God’s Spirit.Oh come, Oh come Immanuel!!!!!!! Let’s rejoice because God is “with us” and “within us”. This is definitely a reason to rejoice and give thanks to God during this special season that we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus. I pray you would experience the true comfort of Immanuel during this season and throughout the year.Merry Christmas and happy Holidays,-Duane
