Word of the Week - Unity
If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. Mark 3:25 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Cor 1:10
As Christians we are privileged to be part of a body of believers under one Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). As God’s sons and daughters we are perfectly and uniquely created to have different gifts, personalities and perspectives. I personally find this to be one of the great blessings of life, though it can be really challenging and at the worst of times lead to discord. It is quite normal, even for believers to have different views and opinions but at the end of the day we remain United as One body in Christ. No matter what denomination or church tradition we come from we all share the same truth in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On a similar but different note, we are privileged to live in the greatest Country on earth. As United States citizens we are blessed to all be Americans regardless of our race, national origins or political affiliation. As Christians and Americans let’s embrace the power and blessing of Unity as one Nation under God.-Duane
